UK Legal system

Bring about a return of ‘Innocent Until Proven Guilty’ to the British Legal System.

38 Degrees

Most people still believe that one has to be considered ‘innocent until proven guilty’ in any criminal legal proceedings, but this is no longer true in practice. The Government would argue otherwise but this is only because they have redefined the word “prove”.

The fact is that if somebody makes a false allegation against you, the Government consider that false allegation to be “proof” and you can be convicted solely on that person’s word; all the prosecution have to do is make the jury choose to believe your accuser rather than yourself. “Proof beyond reasonable doubt” has now turned into “Who do you choose to believe?”.
